Joyce Fern (Sisco) Brisco

Joyce Fern (Sisco) Brisco was born on February 24, 1942, in Cuba, Missouri, to Thomas and Pearl (Rackley) Sisco. She passed away August 23, 2026, at home in Salem, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of eighty-four years. Joyce was a woman who lived life in her own way and was never afraid to speak her mind. She was outspoken, and very quick-witted, with a sense of humor and personality that people who knew her will never forget. She could be known for a little road rage and, if someone crossed the line, she certainly wasn't afraid to chase them down! Joyce worked as an office clerk at the Coke factory. She also worked for Smurfit-Stone Container and later served as a caregiver for Mr. Hines. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed playing bingo, going to yard sales, and visiting the casino. Above all, Joyce cherished her family. Her four children: Bobbi, Mark, Marsha, and Charles, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild were a tremendous source of love and pride in her life. She loved watching her family grow and treasured the time she spent with them. Her Pentecostal faith was an important part of her life, and she had attended the Assembly of God Church, now known as Grace Community. Joyce leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring laughter, love, and comfort to those who knew her. She is survived by her children: Bobbi Smith of Salem, MO, Mark Brisco of Salem, MO, Marsha George of Salem, MO, and Charles Brisco and wife Melissa of Sherwood, AR; siblings: Wilma Harrison of Springfield, MO, Gordon Sisco of Salem, MO, Janet Whitaker of Springfield, MO, and Linda Stagner of Springfield, MO; grandchildren: Shawn Hill, Melissa Taylor, BA Waller, Andy George, Sarah George, Ryan Brisco, and Adrian George; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Thomas and Pearl Sisco; sisters: Helen Oxendine and Freida Harrison; several loved brothers and sisters-in-law; son-in-law: Michael Smith; and great-grandson: Corey Michael Hill. The memories of her laughter, quick wit, and unmistakable personality that made her one of a kind will be forever remembered by those who loved her most. She will be deeply missed. Her family and friends will remember her for her strong spirit, sharp wit, and the many stories that came from simply being Joyce.
