Katherine "Sue" (Floyd) Anderson

Katherine Sue (Floyd) Anderson was born July 23, 1952, in Dent County, Missouri to William “Clifford” and Reba (Katheart) Floyd. She was one of four children and grew up in Dent County. Sue graduated with the class of 1970 from Viburnum High School. Sue was united in marriage to the love of her life, Stanley Ray Anderson, June 6, 1970, in Boss, Missouri by Paul “Tooter” Pryor. Sue and Stanley were blessed with fifty-two years of memories and one beloved son: William Andru. Sue was a devoted wife and loving mother and took great pride in caring for her home and raising her family. Sue enjoyed her long working career as a secretary. She was a loyal employee with the State of Missouri Division of Aging Center for fifteen years. Sue worked at Salem Memorial District Hospital in the billing department for fifteen years and also for a time in Dr. Bob Carnett’s Office. She ended her working career with DCAI before retiring. Her life was full of love, laughter, and fun. She was a hoot to be around and always on the go. Sue loved collecting antiques, otherwise known as “junk”, and frequently visited Antique Stores and Flea Markets. She was one of Salem’s first woman bowlers, several ladies in the community looked up to her and enjoyed their time together. Most important to Sue was making memories with her family. She and Stanley loved traveling and went on several cruises together with friends. She liked cooking and baking; her family was always looking forward to times spent together. Sue entered into eternal rest September 25, 2022, in Salem, Missouri at the age of seventy years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, loving husband: Stanley Anderson of Salem, MO; son: William “Andru” Anderson of Salem, MO; brother: William Floyd and wife Charlotte of O’Fallon, MO; special nieces and nephew: Angela Baker and husband Shawn, Brian Griffith, Angela Pickle and husband Mike, and Stacey Lato and husband Danny; sisters-in-law: Connie Wells and Donna Griffith and husband Norman; special friends: Randy and Debbie Brooks and Mary Pittman; extended family and dear friends. Preceding her in death, her parents: Clifford and Reba Floyd; brother: Jim Floyd; sister: Charlotte Pogue; father and mother-in-law: Winford and Arlene Anderson; and brother-in-law: Don Wells. Sue was beautiful inside and out with a heart of gold. She will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Katherine “Sue” (Floyd) Anderson were held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”. Serving as Pallbearers were Brian Griffith, Mike Pickle, Scott Floyd, J.R. Brooks, Danny Warren, and Garrett Brooks.
