Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Callahan

Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Callahan, the son of Clifford Callahan and Laura Strange, was born on November 24, 1964. He was born in Boss, Missouri and grew up near Ironton. Kenny graduated with the class of 1982 from Arcadia Valley High School. Kenny was a hard worker and jack of all trades. He was talented in the construction field where he constructed metal storage buildings all over the state. Kenny also worked for others on several farms throughout the years. He had a good eye and liked going to yard sales and flea markets to buy and resell items. Kenny enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger. Kenny loved making memories with his sweetheart, Wilma (Southards) Ramsey, her daughter Laken, who he affectionately called “baby girl”, and the Southards Family. He always showed the unwavering love he had for his family and friends. Kenny was very compassionate and had a big heart for helping others. He would help anyone in need, appearance didn’t matter to Kenny. His faith in the Lord was evident in all he accomplished. Kenny was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. Kenny entered into eternal rest December 1, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty years. Those left behind to treasure his memory include his significant other: Wilma Ramsey of Salem, MO; daughter-in-love: Laken Stites and husband Randy; mother-in-love: Elnora Southards; brother-in-love: Wayne Southards and wife Janet; sister-in-love: Teresa Tyree and husband Ron; sister: Elizabeth Nelson; half-siblings: Marcella Dotson and husband Bob, Lyndell Callahan and wife Brenda, Jerry Callahan and wife Cindy, William Callahan and wife Vera, Donnie Callahan and Charley Callahan; stepbrother: John Wilkins and wife Dorthy; as well as his Mt. Hermon Church Family, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his infant twin sons; father: Clifford Callahan, mother: Laura Wilkins and husband Everett; sister: Della Lou Tedford; brothers: Robert, Glen, Loy, Chester, and Keith. Kenny was a genuine friend and overall, a great person. His fun-loving nature brought light into every room he entered. He will be forever missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Callahan were held Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Bob McQueen and Pastor Clinton Massy officiating. Song selections played were “Scars In Heaven”, “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Serving as Pallbearers were Randy Stites, Randy Robinson, Wayne Southards, Levi Forrester, Roy Biggs, and Zach Albert. Honorary Pallbearers were Ron Tyree, Lonnie Southards, David Biggs, Don Shipley, and Ralphie Hoffman. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Kenny Callahan to Wilson Mortuary to help with final expenses.
