Larry Leo Thompson

Larry Leo Thompson was born on July 29, 1957 in Rector, Arkansas to Printice and Louise (Gott) Thompson and passed away on December 22, 2019 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of sixty-two years. Larry grew up in Madison, Illinois and attended school at Louis Baer. He was united in marriage to June and the two were blessed to share three children: Larry, David, and Sylvia. Larry worked as a Lineman at the Charcoal Plant for over twelve years. He always worked hard to provide for his family and put others before himself. Larry was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who was happiest when spending time together with his family. Larry loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed making crafts, particularly dream catchers, in his spare time. Larry could be found watching Westerns and spending time with June reading the Bible at night. He was a member of Spoken Word Tabernacle and enjoyed the fellowship there. Larry is survived by his loving wife: June Thompson of the home; three children: Larry Thompson of Salem, MO, David Norris and fiancé Genie of Salem, MO, and Sylvia Heflin of Salem, MO; two sisters: Connie Williams and husband Steve of Salem, MO and Linda Stevens and husband Danny of St. James, MO; two brothers: Frank Thompson of Salem, MO and Bruce Thompson of Charleston, MO; four grandchildren: Aaron Norris, Rachel Norris, Forrest White, and Stephan White; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Printice and Louise Thompson; as well as several Aunts and Uncles. Larry was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. Memorial Service for Larry Leo Thompson was held Friday, December 27, 2019 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Tim Barnes officiating. Special music was provided by Dawn Barnes singing "Amazing Grace" and "Beulah Land" All arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
