Lena Faye (Hanson) Penrod

Lena Faye (Hanson) Penrod was born June 18, 1938 in Boss, Missouri. She was one of five children born to Thomas Thurber and Juanita Doris (Brooks) Hanson. Faye had a close relationship with her siblings George, Jimmy, Sally and especially her twin sister Mae. On June 26, 1954, at the age of sixteen, Faye was united in marriage to the love of her life, Orman Penrod. Faye and Orman shared fifty-six years together before his passing April 6, 2011. Faye was one of a kind and worked hard all her life. She liked spending time outdoors, especially in the woods hunting alongside Orman. Faye had a love for animals and enjoyed loving on her fur baby. Spending time with her family was most important to her. Faye cherished her nieces, nephews, and their families and treasured the time making memories with them. Faye entered into rest January 14, 2023 in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, loving sister: Sally Kerr and husband Loal of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Cheyenne, Memphis, Jackson, William, and Ellie; nieces and nephews: Angie Deichler, Diane Carney, Debbie Heidtke, Steve and Linda Kerr, Dan and Debbie Kerr, Janet and Steve Delatte, and Mike and Becky Kerr; great-nieces and nephews: Josh Cox, Trenton Carney, Megan Carney, Justin and Jennifer Roderman, Tony Roderman, Jana and Kyle Anderson, Kyle and Morgan Campey, and Zack and Riley Kerr; great-great-grand nieces and nephews: Caitlyn Florence, Olivia, Carter and Lola Roderman, and Lairyn and Graham Campey; extended family and dear friends. Preceding her in death, loving husband: Orman Penrod; father: Thomas Hanson; mother: Juanita Thompson; brothers: George and Jimmy Hanson; twin sister: Mae Hutson; and niece: Janice Cooksey. Faye was a strong, independent, and fun-loving woman. She will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Lena Faye Penrod were held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Virgil McWhorter and Bro. Aaron Steelman officiating. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “I’ll Fly Away”. Serving as Pallbearers were Dan Kerr, Zack Kerr, Justin Roderman, Tony Roderman, Jackson Roderman, and Carter Roderman. Honorary Pallbearers were Ronnie Cook and Gary Cook.
