Marvin Rodney Pace

Marvin Rodney Pace was born August 26, 1954, in Salem, Missouri. He was one of four children born to Morris Ray and Nora Catherine (Click) Pace. Rodney grew up in Salem and graduated with the class of 1972 from Salem High School. On May 3, 1986, Rodney was united in marriage to the love of his life, Velma Darlene, at Salem Faith Assembly Church. They were blessed with thirty-seven years of marriage, laughter, and lasting memories. Rodney had a talent in repairing and refinishing antique furniture. In his spare time, he liked spending time outdoors and going fishing. He loved to tend to his garden and share his bounty with others. Rodney took great pride in keeping a beautifully maintained flower bed & yard. Rodney found great joy in making memories with his family. He loved being an uncle and cherished his niece, nephew, and their families. Rodney lived his life to the fullest and had a heart for everyone. He was a man of great faith and attended Salem Faith Assembly where he enjoyed helping in the mission pantry. Rodney entered into eternal rest January 22, 2024, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years. Those left behind to treasure his memory include his loving wife: Darlene Pace of Salem, MO; brother: David Pace and wife Sharon of Salem, MO; sisters: Sue Gorman and husband Steve of Salem, MO, and Missy Canaday and husband Rick of Salem, MO; niece: Cary Steelman and husband Aaron; nephew: Victor Wood and wife Nicole; great-nieces and nephews: Malia Toman and husband Will, Reid Terrill, Izzabella Wood, Gabriella Wood, and Nora Wood; cousin: Sandy Yanakowicz; extended family and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Ray and Nora Pace. Rodney was quite the character, always cracking jokes and sharing his great sense of humor with everyone around him. He will forever be missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Marvin Rodney Pace were held Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Andrew Careaga and Pastor Bill Anderson officiating. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art”. Serving as Pallbearers were David Pace, Victor Wood, Rick Canaday, Steve Gorman, Aaron Steelman, and Will Toman., and Chad Gorman. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
