Michael Lee Rapert

Michael Lee Rapert, born January 10, 1957, was the son of Richard Rapert and Zerelda (Holt). Michael was born in Washington, Missouri and grew up in Burke City, Missouri. At the age of seventeen, Michael enlisted into the Marine Corp and served his Country faithfully from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1978. After his military service, Michael furthered his education with East Central College, receiving his certificate in Automotive Technology in 1983. Then later with ITT Technical Institute, receiving his Applied Science Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology in 2000. Michael was a hard worker and known as a jack of all trades. His working career included Federal Leasing, St. Louis, Missouri, Metro Waste Systems, Welston, Missouri, Mechanic, Greenville, Illinois, Harris Century Masonry, from 1986-1987, and Belleville Local 197 from February 1987 until his retirement. In his spare time as a hobby, Michael enjoyed woodworking. He found joy and peace creating beautiful pieces with his hands. His passion for woodworking was evident in the custom furniture he created. Michael also loved volunteering at the Farmington Food Pantry for the past ten years. Michael departed this life August 12, 2025, in Farmington, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years. He is survived by his mother: Zerelda Lamster of Salem, Missouri; father: Richard Rapert of Dupo, IL; brother: David Rapert of Florissant, MO; daughter: Stephanie Halton of Farmington, MO; uncle: Garry Holt of West Fork, AR; aunt: Glenda Pierce of Bunker, MO; many cousins; extended family and friends. Michael will be forever remembered as a devoted father, cherished son, and beloved brother. The memories he shared with his family and friends along the way will be deeply treasured. He will be deeply missed. Funeral Services for Michael Lee Rapert were held Monday, August 18, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Burial with Military Honors was in the Matlock Cemetery, St. James, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
