Richard Lee Meyer

Richard Lee Meyer, born July 5, 1932, in Evansville, Indiana, passed away February 22, 2026, in Licking, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years. Richard was the son of the late Oscar and Thelma (Walker) Meyer. He was a high school graduate of Central High School in Evansville, Indiana. On September 12, 1950, Richard was united in marriage to the love of his life, Emma J. Milam, at the St. Benedict Church in Evansville. They shared sixty-eight years of marriage and lasting memories before her passing on May 23, 2018. Richard and Emma were blessed with two children, Connie and Jerry, whom he was very proud of. He raised his family in Ballwin, Missouri while working at the Chrysler Corporation for many years. He later relocated to Fenton and retired after many years of commitment and dedication. His love for working on cars was not just a career but a lifelong hobby that brought him joy. He enjoyed tinkering and spending time in his garage at home. Above all, Richard was a man of faith, loved the Lord, and had deep love for his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his world and the time spent with them was something he treasured. Richard is survived by his daughter: Connie Goodwin of Salem, MO; son: Jerry Meyer and wife Sandra of Bismarck, MO; sister: Linda Edwards of Indiana; brother: Larry Meyer and wife Mary Ann of Indiana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his wife of sixty-eight years: Emma (Milam) Meyer; parents: Oscar and Thelma Meyer; and his brothers: Alan Meyer and Dennis Meyer. Richard was quite man who did not always say a great deal, yet he had a playful sense of humor and loved to joke and tease others bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Funeral Services were held Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Joe Brand officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were John Kanyuck, Channler Kanyuck, and Joe Brand. Burial was in the Dry Fork Cemetery. The family was served by Wilson Mortuary, Salem, Missouri.
