Rosetta (Norris) Sutton was born on April 28, 1940, in Salem, Missouri to James and Wanna (Whitaker) Norris and passed away on February 7, 2021 in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty years. Rosetta was born and raised on the beloved family farm in Dent County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jerry Sutton, on February 11, 1956 and shared fifty-eight years of memories before his passing on February 8, 2014. Rosetta and Jerry made their home on the family farm and raised their four children: Donna, Patsy, Jerold, and David with great family values. Rosetta took great pride in providing for her family; she was a business owner operating Sutton Gas Plus for fifteen years and Lil’ Joes for several years. Rosetta was a sweet and kind lady who enjoyed serving the community. She knew her way around the kitchen and was an awesome cook, she was well known for her chicken and dumplings and biscuits and gravy. Rosetta liked spending time outdoors, she loved and cared for her animals and enjoyed her garden and flower beds. She had a green thumb and a talent to make her yard, roses, and flower gardens beautiful. Her family was most important to her; she was fond of their Sunday gatherings and trail rides down to the river. Rosetta was a sweet and sassy grandmother and treasured the memories they made together. Rosetta leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children: Donna Curley, Patsy Mendenhall and special friend Carl, Jerold Sutton, and David Sutton Sr. all of Salem, MO; siblings: Lucille Middleton, Richard Norris, and Morris Norris all of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Laura Pool and husband Steve, David Sutton Jr., and Jeremy Sutton all of Salem, MO; great-grandchildren: Kaylin Inman and special friend Bryce, Taylor Smith and special friend Aaron Brooks, and Shaylea Sutton; great-great-grandchildren: Wesley Hildreth and Rylan Hildreth; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Jerry Sutton; parents: James and Wanna Norris; grandson: Joseph Allen Sutton; sisters: Betty Walberg, Goldie Browning, and Irene Cavaness; brothers: Archie and James Norris. Rosetta was a beautiful, classy lady who made many friendships; she was tough as nails but had a heart of gold. Rosetta will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Funeral Services for Rosetta (Norris) Sutton were held Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Ben Pursifull officiating. Song selections played were “Broken Halo”, “My Angel”, and “Through The Years”. Serving as Pallbearers were Larry Norris, Jerry Norris, Eddie Shepherd, Gary Browning, Ray Norris, and Doyle Revelle. Honorary Pallbearers were David Sutton Jr., Jeremy Sutton, Austin Duncan, and Derrick Shaw. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery.
