Sharon Kay (Quick) McCann

Sharon Kay (Quick) McCann was born April 18, 1944 in Cedar Grove, Missouri to Jake and Mae (Brummitt) Quick. She grew up in Cherryville, Missouri and at the age of seventeen, her family moved to Salem. Sharon furthered her education obtaining her CNA certification and started her nursing career with Salem Memorial District Hospital and Seville Care Center. She was a fantastic nurse and a joy to work with. Sharon was the most compassionate and loving person providing great care to her patients. Sharon was united in marriage on May 26, 1981 to the love of her life, Eldon Lee McCann. Sharon and Eldon were blessed with one son, Bradley. She was a proud mother and devoted wife. Her family was most important to her and she treasured the time spent with them. Sharon and Eldon shared together twenty-four years of memories before his passing May 15, 2005. Sharon was a woman of strong faith and member of House of Prayer. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Western Novels. Sharon was a collector of music boxes and “what nots”. She loved going to flea markets and frequently visited the Goodwill Store. Sharon departed this life October 31, 2022 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving son: Bradley Quick and wife Angela of Rolla, MO; sister: Linda Parker of Salem, MO; brothers: Jerry Quick of Salem, MO and Cecil Quick of Alaska; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Eldon McCann; parents: Jake and Mae Quick; and siblings: Shirley, James, Johnnie, Carl, and Charlotte. Sharon will be forever missed and loved by all that knew her. Funeral Services for Sharon Kay (Quick) McCann were held Saturday, November 5, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Wendell Light officiating. Song selections played were “The Old Country Church”, “When We All Get To Heaven”, and “How Great Thou Art”. Special Music was provided by Dawn Choate singing “Amazing Grace”. Serving as Pallbearers were Jamie Quick, Gurnie Quick, Dennis Quick, Jerry Quick, Jake Quick, and Orville Brummitt. Honorary Pallbearers were Danny Rictor, Bryan Quick, Dylan Enloe.
