Shirley Ann (Short) Tune

Shirley Ann (Short) Tune, born January 26, 1941, to the late Clifford and Edith (Graham) Short, passed away June 8, 2026, at the age of eighty-five years. Shirley married the love of her life, James Oscar Tune Jr., and together they shared many treasured memories before his passing. She was the proud mother of four children: Jim, Tim, Shelly, and Mark. She dearly loved her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren. She was the supporting element of her family, the glue that held it all together and a constant source of love, strength, and encouragement for her children. For many years, Shirley worked as a salesclerk for Schafer Furniture, but her favorite role was that of homemaker. She took great pride in keeping a clean home and preparing meals for those she loved. Shirley enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, spending time with her sisters, tending to and admiring flowers, reading, and relaxing at Bull Shoals Lake. Shirley was a longtime member of Grace Community Church, where she faithfully served in the kitchen preparing bereavement meals and assisted with Girls Club activities. Her servant's heart and dedication to others touched many lives. Shirley is survived by her loving children: Jim Tune and wife Nancy of Lake Ozark, MO, Tim Tune and wife Nik of Clever, MO, Shelly Tune and Jimmy of Salem, MO, and Mark Tune and wife Sherry of Salem, MO; sister-in-law: Charlene Short of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Brian Tune and wife Alyssa, Ashley Mantle and husband Mickey, Chelsie Fulton, Ty Huff, Dylan Sisco and wife Kala, Erin Pogue and husband Logan, and Gracie Tune; many great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: James Tune Jr.; parents: Clifford and Edith (Graham) Short; siblings: Amelia Tetrault, Roy Lee Short, and Celia Wooliver; grandson-in-law: Nick Fulton; and niece: June Heavin. Shirley will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, her faithful service to her church, and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love, devotion, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Services were held June 11, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Terry Davis officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Brian Tune, Chris Heavin, Dylan Sisco, Chris Sites, Mickey Mantle, and Logan Pogue. Honorary Pallbearers were Dave Thompson and Jim Heavin. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family was served by Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Shirley to Grace Community Church for Girls Club and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
