Timothy Ray Peterson

Timothy Ray Peterson born April 8, 1954 passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones August 14, 2026. Timothy Ray Peterson was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He lived a life best measured not simply in years, but in family, open roads, hard work, trees planted, fish caught, campfires enjoyed, and countless memories made along the way. Tim graduated from Belton High School and spent his life working hard and doing a little bit of everything. He retired from ABB and, over the years, worked as a dump truck and semi truck driver and as a lineman in Texas. He was also a lifelong member of FORR (Freedom of Road Riders), reflecting one of the great loves of his life: riding motorcycles and the freedom of the open road. Tim was happiest outdoors. He loved planting trees, gardening, fishing, camping, and floating. He had a genuine appreciation for nature and could find contentment simply being outside. He was also a devoted weather watcher, always keeping an eye on what the sky might bring. Music was another constant in Tim’s life, especially bluegrass and country music. Whether riding a motorcycle, tending a garden, watching the weather roll in, or spending time with the people he loved, Tim knew how to appreciate the simple things that make a life full. Above all, Tim loved his family. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Louise Peterson, and their four children: Mandy Bullard; Marie Willard, husband Jake; Brian Mitchell, wife Megan; and MacKenzie Peterson, wife Kayla. He was Grandpa to twelve grandchildren: Abigail Mathis, Taylor Fast, Somer Fast (Zach Miller), Ethan Helton (Samantha), Alaina Borgmeyer (Matthew), Morgan Eggleston (Ethan Mell), Isaac Mitchell, Samantha Mitchell, Emmett Mitchell, Aidan Schofield, Tristan Schofield, and Emily Schofield. His family continued to grow with four great-grandchildren: Rylee Fast, Noah Mathis, Leni Borgmeyer, and Jonathan Helton. Tim also leaves behind his sisters, Linda Lauberth and Kelly Shelton; his mother-in-law, Mary Smith; and his beloved “Brother-Uncle,” John Nowack and a group of friends that is more like family. And Tim’s family wouldn’t be complete without his two four-legged kids, Lucy and Dixie, who held their own special places in his heart. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Monte Peterson and Pauline (West) Peterson; his sister, Karen Zumwalt; and his father-in-law, Jack Smith. Tim leaves behind a family who loved him, along with a lifetime of stories that will continue to be told. His memory will live on in every motorcycle ride, every garden planted, every fishing trip, every campfire, every country or bluegrass song, and every storm watched from the safety of home. When the rain comes, those who loved Tim can remember his words and perhaps hear a little of his wisdom in them: “The only thing to do when it rains is let it rain.” A gathering to remember and celebration of life for Tim will be held at Alaina and Matthew Borgmeyer’s home located at 70 County Road 602, Loose Creek, MO 65054, Saturday, August 22, 2026, starting at 2pm till 4pm.
