Twyla Lee (Dall) Riley

Twyla Lee (Dall) Riley of Salem, Missouri, passed away August 26, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family, at the age of eighty-six years. Twyla was born on November 23, 1944, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Alphonse “Buck” Dall and Dorothy Pearl (Williams) Dall. She grew up in Collinsville, Illinois, and graduated from East St. Louis High School. On April 14, 1964, Twyla married the love of her life, Bill Riley Jr., in Fairmont City, Illinois. Together they shared sixty-two years of marriage and were blessed with two children, Shannon and Bill Riley III. Twyla was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She worked as an accountant and bookkeeper at Hilltop Car Lot, working side by side with her husband as they owned and operated the business together. She and Bill also owned Salem Pawn Shop. Outside of work, Twyla enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved playing bingo at the Eagles Club and American Legion and frequently enjoyed visiting Indigo Sky Casino, where she was a cardholder. She was also talented with her hands and enjoyed many crafts, including stained glass, needlepoint, and ceramics. Raised in the Catholic faith, Twyla carried her faith and values throughout her life. She was a quiet and reserved woman with a gentle presence and a strong spirit. She was known for keeping her husband in line and was a steady and loving presence in their family. Her grandchildren and great-grandson were her world, and she treasured every moment she was able to spend with them. Family was at the heart of her life. Twyla is survived by her loving husband: Bill Riley Jr. of Salem, MO; daughter: Shannon Riley of Salem, MO; son: Bill Riley III and wife Jennifer of Rogersville, MO; brothers: Keith Dall of Jacksonville, IL and James Dall and wife Trish of Collinsville, IL; grandchildren: Andrew Simpson and wife Brenna, Matthew Simpson, Ethan Simpson, Mason Riley, and Sarah Riley; great-grandson: Kolten Simpson; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Buck and Dorothy (Williams) Dall; and siblings: Rodger Dall, JoAnn Touchette, Darla Langille, Billy Dall, and Darrell Dall. Twyla will be remembered for her quiet strength, unwavering devotion to her family, and the many memories she created with those she loved. Her family will forever cherish the years they shared with her and carry her memory in their hearts. Funeral Services were held September 3, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Andrew Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Ethan Simpson, and Mason Riley. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.wilsonmortuary.com
