Vincent James Parks

Vincent James Parks was born March 15, 1966, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Leonard “Jess” Headbird and Cheryl Ann Brown. He was later adopted by James “Jim” Robert and Charlotte Louise (Pruett) Parks. He was raised in Salem, Missouri, and graduated with the Class of 1985 from Salem High School. Vincent was united in marriage to the love of his life, Peggy Sue Lundy, on August 30, 1985, in Salem, Missouri. This union was blessed with three children: Michael, Brittany, and Grace, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together for thirty-two years before her passing on October 31, 2017. Vincent was a hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Salem for many years. Vincent enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to go fishing with his boat at the Lake of the Ozarks. Vincent was very outgoing, liked to socialize, and enjoy a cup of coffee with his friends at Common Grounds. He was a man of faith and a longtime member of Grace Community Church. Most important to him were his faith and family, he truly loved his children and adored his grandson. Spending time making memories with them was something he treasured most. Vincent departed this life on November 26, 2022, in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of fifty-six years. Those left behind to cherish his memory, loving children: Michael Parks and wife Tabi of Salem, MO, Brittany Parks of Salem, MO, and Grace Parks of Salem, MO; siblings: Dennis Brown, Jeff Brown, Robert “Bob” Jaspers and wife Dawn, Jesse Headbird, Jake Headbird, Tina Headbird, and Jessica Headbird; grandchild: Asher Reed Parks; mother-in-law: Joyce Lundy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, wife: Peggy Parks; adopted parents: James and Charlotte Parks; biological parents: Leonard “Jess” Headbird and Cheryl Ann Brown; father-in-law: Doug Lundy; and brothers: Pete Headbird and Lenny Parks Sr. Vincent leaves a great legacy for those who loved him most. He will be forever missed but never forgotten. Funeral Services for Vincent James Parks were held Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Terry Davis officiating. Special Music was provided by Randy Ferguson. Serving as Pallbearers were Loren Wood, Steve Lundy, Leonard Bruce Parks Jr., Mike Smith, Todd Parks, and Davey Shelton. Honorary Pallbearers were George Dodson, Rowdy Mackley, and Ron Norris. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
